How Christian Faith Can Sustain the Life of the Mind
Published in Hardcover by Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing Co. (August, 2001)
Authors: Richard T. Hughes and Samuel S. Hill
Average review score:

Thoughtful, humble, and honest
This book is a balm for the Christian who struggles to reconcile the uniqueness of Christ and the need for honest dialog with other faiths. Hughes shows how the Christian message supports openness and honest exchange. Christianity teaches humility (all have sinned...), the value of paradox (Christ as God and human at the same time), and love for others, including really listening to the others' point of view. The book is a gentle treatment of the subject, modeling the kindness and humility that Hughes promotes.

RAISE MILLIONS/IPO-THIS BOOK MUST ALWAYS BE IN YOUR MIND!!!
This book should be on the desk of every CEO, CFO and Entrepreneur in the country. It seems that everyone wants to take their company public but almost no one knows how until now. Thanks to the author/experts, Robert Paul Turner and his assistant Megan Hughes, because they arm you with everything you need to realize your dreams of enormous success by raising millions of dollars and taking your company public. The reading is easy to read, concise and to the point. They clearly explain all the associated risks along with the benefits and even help you to determine whether or not your company is suited for a IPO.

I really like the section that explains the various federal and state securities laws that is mandatory for everyone to know when going public. You just can't put a price tag on this valuable information to ensure all SEC regulations are met properly.

Howard Hughes in Las Vegas
Published in Hardcover by Carol Publishing Group (01 February, 1970)
Author: Omar V. Garrison
Average review score:

Howard Hughes in Las Vegas
Howard Hughes is an odd figure in our history. Omar V. Garrison was an investigative journalist that sorted out confusing mysteries in an easy to understand manner. Although this book is out of print, it is still sought after because it explains many aspects of the mystery of Howard Hughes.

The author writes about Hughes' secret career as a portrait photographer and playboy in disguise; the tragic accident in which he killed a stranger in a sudden and fateful encounter beyond his control; his absentee marriage to former film star Jean Peters; and his running battle with the Atomic Energy Commission in an all-out effort to halt the underground testing of nuclear bombs in Nevada.

Hughes Plays 1
Published in Paperback by Methuen Publishing, Ltd (January, 1998)
Author: Declan Hughes
Average review score:

Brilliant!
Okay, I must say, "Love and a Bottle" is now my favourite play of all time. It is a brilliant work that pokes fun at the restoration period, English high society and at life (and love) in general. I recently got to see a production of it and it was fabulous! Digging for Fire is also great and even though I've not yet read the other two plays, I'm really looking forward to them. Add this great Irish playwright to your "must read" list!

FABULOUS AND FUN!
Wonderful book!
FRom back of book:
Was she flirting with danger when he invited her to play "let's pretend"?

Fannie Brisbane knew it was an impossible scheme, but unless she agreed to it, the daughter she'd given up for adoption years ago would know she wasn't rich and married! Her Griddle and Grill customers all pitched in, offering clothes, even a mansion- but when Clay Bodine offered to play her husband, did she dare say yes to a charade with the man who'd always owned her heart?

With her trademark humor and unforgettable characters, Charlotte Hughes delivers a romance full of tenderness and fun. Could a brash bachelor charm the woman who'd taught him the meaning of temptation?
